The strength of the Farm Credit System—united. Delivering significant annual savings and unmatched coverage.
The Farm Credit Captive Insurance Company is a cornerstone of stability for the System—offering collective strength, long-term cost control, and specialized coverage that reflects the unique needs of its owner-members.
The Captive evolved into a critical asset for Farm Credit institutions:

The Captive is executing a multi-year strategy to reduce dependence on the commercial insurance market by expanding coverage lines and strengthening its financial foundation. This self-reliance approach ensures more stable pricing, broader coverage terms, and greater control for Farm Credit entities.

By retaining unused premium dollars and investing them strategically, the Captive continues to grow its surplus. These investments enhance long-term financial stability and position the Captive to increase coverage limits while delivering greater value to its owner-members.

The Farm Credit Captive Insurance Company is overseen by a Board of Governors composed of eight rotating members representing Farm Credit. This includes delegates from each District Bank and their Associations, along with one external Director who brings specialized insurance expertise. The Board plays a critical role in guiding both short- and long-term strategy, offering insights to the Captive’s management team while ensuring the perspectives and priorities of the broader Farm Credit System are reflected in its operations.
