San Xavier Mission, Tubac Art Village & Tumacacori Mission Tour
Step back in time on this enriching 6-hour tour through Southern Arizona’s cultural and historical treasures.
Begin with a visit to the stunning San Xavier Mission, known as the “White Dove of the Desert.” This beautifully preserved 18th-century Spanish baroque church still serves the local Tohono O’odham community and offers a glimpse into centuries-old religious traditions and architecture.
Next, enjoy lunch at Wisdom’s Café before exploring Tubac, a vibrant artist colony with deep historical roots. Once a Spanish presidio, Tubac now features galleries, studios, and shops where art and history meet.
The journey continues along the Juan Bautista de Anza Trail to Tumacacori Mission, part of a national historical park preserving the ruins of early Spanish missions. Discover the mission’s gardens and learn about the lives of the Franciscan padres and native peoples who once lived there.
Note: This tour includes moderate walking. Comfortable shoes recommended.
