Michael Short has been CoBank’s Chief Credit Officer since 2019. Among other duties, he Chairs the CoBank Loan Committee, the Investment Committee, the Country Risk Committee, is Vice Chair of the Allowance Committee, and is a member of ALCO. Before assuming his current duties as CCO, he worked as Senior Vice President of Credit Approvals, a Managing Director in Capital Markets, and as the Senior Vice President of Special Assets. Prior to his time at CoBank, he worked for John Hancock Financial Services in its Bond and Corporate Finance Group in Boston. Prior to joining Hancock, Mr. Short spent 12 years with Bank of America and its predecessors in a variety of corporate and commercial banking roles. Mr. Short earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Vermont and an MBA from the Roy E. Crummer Graduate School of Business at Rollins College.
