Michael Hosterman brings a wealth of experience and expertise to his role as a business consultant. Mike began his Farm Credit career more than 36 years ago as loan officer where he worked with a variety of operations in South Central Pennsylvania for the predecessor organizations of Horizon Farm Credit. His passion for the dairy industry served him well as a dairy lending specialist working with dairies in multiple states and serving internally as a co-leader of the dairy lending team.
For the past 20 years, Mike has served as a business consultant within the Farm Credit system. He works with a diversified portfolio of businesses including dairy, orchard, equine, beef, crops, poultry, swine, veterinarian services, retail, and general agriculture businesses over multiple states. Mike offers his clients expertise in financial analysis, business transition, expansion planning, and business management, creating a strategic plan for the long-term sustainability of agricultural businesses. Leveraging Farm Credit’s financial and lending team, he has helped facilitate and coordinate business transfer and estate planning. His diverse background brings skill sets that help to identify, map and collaborate with internal and external team members with a whole business approach for financial success.
In addition, Mike is a team member of Farm Credit’s Dairy Benchmark program, Dairy Profit Analyzer, and Dairy Profit Intelligence programs. A Pennsylvania State University graduate with a B.S. degree in Agricultural Business Management, Mike provides sound strategic planning assistance allowing agricultural business to focus on daily operations.
